*Update* Oh my god! The honour! This is amazing! You can now find the exploding wumpus comic on Alltop.com’s list of the best webcomics on the internet!!! Right there! Go to the very bottom though because I was a new addition. This is unbelievable! To be on the same list as Penny Arcade, Xkcd and VG Cats! It doesnt even matter what the list is.

*Update* The mother-fucking-FOUNDER of Kongregate actually posted on the wall of my Kongregate Profile to tell me that he loved the comic! Again the awesomely unlikely happens! I feel much more legitimate in my creations!!! This is an excellent week!! I’ve also received two emails complimenting the comic. Two. That’s a record for me beating my old record of 0. You have no idea what a confidence boost these things are, I’m practically euphoric.

As a side noteI I feel the unmistakeable urge to celebrate the fact that this is the 50th comic! woo! It sure has gotten better has it not? Well… Maybe. Whatever. I’d like to take a moment to thank some important people, whom without, this comic would not exist. Firstly I would like to thank co-founder and personal friend of myself Matthew Hall (aka: Nowned as you will see him soley appear on the blog) for building, making, running, designing, managing etc. the entire website. Without him you wouldn’t have these mildly entertaining scribbles to gawk at. Secondly I’d like to thank a girl, a special one, I shalt not embarrass by naming her here, on the webs. Without the support of this awesome friend I would have lost the drive to create after comic 6, well actually I DID lose the drive to create after comic 6 but without her, said drive would not have been so passionately reignited. And thirdly I would like to thank all my friends and readers who support this comic even though it’s, more often than not, shit. Thankyou for the support everyone! And if I do actually have any readers then I hope you feel good about yourselves, because if I knew you were actually reading this I would be very, very pleased. Having readers who legitmately enjoy your work is quite euphoric… If only I knew if you were actually out there.

More introductory comics to follow.

As a side note I’ve finally figured out some recurring characters, back story and setting for the comic, yes yes exciting stuff… expect a formal introduction to the newness in a 3 part form this coming week.

Needless to say I’m pretty proud of how this turned out, mostly because of how excited I was to finally make it. The plan has been sitting in my ideas folder for almost a year.

Either way down to the comic, this is probably one of my very favourites. You might all be very unaware that you are witnessing the birth of my very own personal style. I, through the magic of a new program other than photoshop, have been able to actually draw some increasingly better looking comics. I am using Macromedia Flash to ink in the character outlines now and then just moving them to photoshop to do touch-up, colour and text. ( I really like the brush in Flash and the way it smooths my shitty, shaky lines. ) Quality is increasing and so are views. I’m happy.

Also, you might not get the joke unless you’ve played some of the game, but I would like to think that it’s funny anyway. I suppose that’s for you to decide.

You see, recently I ventured into the depths of my near-archaic photoshop folders in search of a rare and elusive substance know only as “funny“. “Funny” is a fickle substance as it can only be see by certain people and only under certain circumstances. During my search I discovered many a “funny” but only three “funny”’s that could be salvaged into “humor”, the refined form of “funny”. So I slapped a title and some copyright on ‘em and here they are! Enjoy the scrolling. Also, you can click on the images to see them at a higher resolution, the last one is actually a fucking huge poster.

And a very big thankyou to my girlfriend, without her… this comic would have died a-long time ago. Well, it did still die but without this wonderful girl it would not have been so jubilantly revived!

Views seem to be picking up. And I am told that people are even subscribing to the RSS feed. This is fantastic news. I am elated.

Now don’t get me wrong. I would NEVER punch the dude in the awesome wizard get-up; i would play D&D with him. But obviously thats not as funny… so the guy is this comic is a douche.

You might notice that it looks like shit. Yeah it’s a new one I promise but I was really lazy while making this one. It was created right on the verge of me giving up comic writing and you can tell little effort was put into it. I promise though that the one ive made for friday looks absolutely amazing compared to this scribbly junk.

Mr. Wumpus here and I am pleased to announce im returning to comic making and actually plan on releasing two a week from now on. One on Monday and one on Friday. Im starting off on Monday the 17th of March and hopefully from now on I will be releasing comics twice a week untill whenever I run out of ideas! So if anybody reads these things its your lucky day because now there might actually be something to read.

This was a comic that I had made ages ago and lost up untill now. I found it quite hilarious and decided to remaster it (colour it) and put it up here. The following two comics are also remakes of old ideas and since they are all so old and its been quite a few months since ive done ANY work whatsoever I’ve decided to do three today.
